In recent times, demand for Reiki has been surging. This has led us increasingly towards
a wider, more expansive view of Reiki, which has opened out to become a vision of a Reiki
Hospital - a vision both clear and very exciting. It was this beautiful vision
that made me roll up my sleeves and get to work.
We now envision the possibility of soon owning our own Reiki Teaching Hospital and serving
society both nationally and internationally by giving initiations and spiritual training for
people’s well being. This will be the first Reiki Teaching Hospital of its kind in the world.
It will be located in Thankot, some 15km West of Kathmandu, on a small property made available by
Mr. Mahashwar Lal Shrestha. The land has access to electricity and water, and faces West over
the broad, luminous valley leading towards Pokhara.
All this brings me to the main conclusion we have reached so far -
the campaign for the Reiki Teaching Hospital has already begun!
It began originally with the wide experience of social service we have gained together, and our
shared determination to
expand that social service and make its benefits available to so many more people who are in need. Let
us continue to generate practical ideas every day. I am confident our unity and understanding of each other will get the planning part
of the campaign off to a good start, and that is already half the job.
To give this good start and strong foundation to the whole campaign, we are preparing activities
on various levels on an ongoing and regular basis - these include Reiki Orientation Courses,
Practical Reiki Workshops, Voluntary work for visitors and other activities, all with special
focus on the importance of Reiki to an integral awareness and maintenance of physical, emotional
and spiritual health.
We shall offer these services both in the community and to visitors to Nepal - people from other
countries who are interested in Reiki, who practise it or teach. They will have the chance of
sharing Voluntary work with us on the Hospital Campaign as they learn or practise Reiki. We are
confident these activities will be able to generate the necessary funding to locate
initial camping activities in Thankot, in preparation for later stages of building. This is
how we intend to water the seeds that will grow into the Reiki Hospital - by working together
with one united vision, confident that with time what is now a dream will become reality.
I declare my intention to guide this process permanently, from these beginnings right through
the whole journey of my life, in the cause of helping, serving, healing. I call on all of you
to join me in this task. With all the power of our community of Nepal Reiki Meditation Centre,
we will build the Reiki Hospital, and so contribute to a better world, one of greater fullness,
happiness and health. Finally let me add,
